The new Oberweis Scoop Shop will serve Glen Carbon, Edwardsville and nearby Southern Illinois communities. The opening is part of Oberweis’ broader Midwestern expansion under Hoffmann Family of Companies.

The Glen Carbon shop will offer hand-scooped super-premium ice cream in cups, cones and freshly baked waffle cones and bowls, as well as hand-dipped milkshakes, specialty sundaes, root beer floats, Frostbite blended treats and Oberweis glass-bottled milk.

To mark the opening, Oberweis said it will offer the Pretzel Party Frostbite exclusively at the Glen Carbon location for a limited time. The drink is made with vanilla soft serve blended with Snickers, pretzels, caramel and chocolate sauce, then topped with a chocolate-dipped pretzel.

“The Orchard Town Center development is thriving, and it makes for the perfect family-friendly hub that’s become synonymous with the Oberweis brand,” Oberweis CEO Renato DePaolis said. “Ice cream simply tastes better when shared with family and friends, and our new store reflects the values we hold dear: a deep appreciation for quality, authentic experiences, and strong community connections. We’ll always be that welcoming space for individuals of all ages to enjoy premium ice cream and take a joyful pause in their day.”

DePaolis said the new shop was designed to balance new features with familiar elements of the brand.

“Ice cream should be fun,” DePaolis said. “With the new shop, we wanted to bring new energy to the Oberweis brand while staying true to what our guests know and love. From the red and white design cues to the smell of fresh waffle cones, every detail was created to make people feel welcome the moment they walk in.”

The company also has a First Responder Day on Monday, July 20, 2026, when first responders serving the greater St. Louis area will receive 25% off their order.

Oberweis said the Glen Carbon opening marks another milestone in its regional growth. The company described the location as its sixth brick-and-mortar store in Missouri.
