Mary Clayton read a proclamation from Godfrey Mayor Mike McCormick recognizing Hart and Fiedler for their exemplary work clearing snow for neighbors.

Wilson said Hart and Fiedler clear snow with shovels, not a tractor. He said they were out last year one time when temperatures were 10 below zero.

Fiedler started shoveling snow for neighbors in 2012, according to information provided by Wilson. Hart, who moved next door to Wilson and was raised on a farm in Carlinville, began in 2016. Fiedler is a veteran of the Coast Guard and Navy.

Wilson said the honorees were humbled by the recognition.
