Alton got on the board first as they strung some hits together in the bottom of the first to put two runs across. They still led 3-1 after two innings of play, but they'd eventually lose that lead.

In the top of the fourth the Bethalto bats exploded. They were practically teeing off against Alton as they scored eight runs. It was hit after hit for the Elite and they wouldn't be held scoreless for another inning after that.

They scored two more in the fifth, one in the sixth and another seven in the seventh.
