GRANITE CITY - Four Edwardsville runners finished in the top ten, as Edwardsville won the girls' meet of the 52nd annual Pete Robinson/Harry Lang Granite City Invitational cross country meet Saturday morning at Wilson Park in Granite City.

It was the Tigers' second straight championship in the early-season meet, considered one of the premier meets in the St. Louis area. The meet is named for the former cross country and track coaches at Granite City North High School.
Edwardsville won the meet with 32 points, while Chatham Glenwood finished second at 99 points, O'Fallon was third with 107 points, in fourth place was Breese Mater Dei Catholic at 150 points, and rounding out the top five was Webster Groves, Mo. at 162 points. In sixth place was Quincy with 163 points, with seventh place going to Mascoutah at 173 points, eighth place went to Mt. Vernon at 177 points, in ninth place was Farmington, Mo. with 213 points, and rounding out the second five was Highland with 247 points.
In other area finishers, Belleville Althoff Catholic finished 11th with 262 points, Roxana ended up in 12th place with 356 points, Freeburg and Metro-East Lutheran tied for 13th with 360 points each, with Freeburg finishing 13th and Metro-East 14th on a tiebreak, Breese Central was 15th at 405 points, in 16th place was Columbia with 438 points, coming in 17th place was Belleville West at 458 points, in 18th place was Civic Memorial at 482 points, and in 19th place was East St. Louis at 571 points.
The individual winner was Ali Londrigan of Glenwood at 16:55.46, with MacKenna Kerpan of Edwardsville finishing second at 17:15.38, third place went to Sophie Rentmeister of Glenwood at 17:50.36, in fourth place was Lily MoCollom of O'Fallon at 17:54.06, and Morgan Popelar of Edwardsville was fifth with a time of 18:02.70. In sixth place was Quincy's Payton Kuhl at 18:06.88, seventh place went to Lydia Hoffman of Waterloo at 18:28.66, Edwardsville's Ella Thompson was eighth at 18:39.63, teammate Reagan Jumper was ninth at 18:42.30, and rounding out the top ten was Myla McAllister of Mater Dei at 18:43.59.
Finishing 11th was Brenley Kelly of Jersey, who came in at 18:46.41, with 12th place going to Heidi Stahlheber of Edwardsville, with a time of 18:46.37, while 13th place went to Katelyn White of O'Fallon at 18:50.70, in 14th place was Emberlie Goins of Triad, who had a time of 18:54.79, and in 15th place was Emery Lawson of Edwardsville at 18:55.58. Placing 16th was Ali Broddus of Glenwood at 19:01.34, with 17th place going to Lucille Middendorf of Webster Groves, with a time of 19:04.89, with 18th place going to teammate Carson Selby at 19:13.38, in 19th place was Waterloo's Emily Vogt at 19:40.48, and rounding out the second ten was Zoey Argabright of Quincy, who was in at 19:28.63.
The other top finishers for each of the competing teams were Mascoutah's Autumn Jackson, who was in at 19:43.98, Morgan Greenwald of Highland came in 19:45.94, Lucy Doyle of Metro-East was in at 19:48.04, Johnna Hardin of Belleville East was in at 19:55.11, Gianna Stassi led Roxana with a time of 19:59.12, Kaylee Grandt was the top runner for Columbia at 20:18.22, Freeburg was led by Emma Savage at 20:41.67, Ainsley Turkington led Father McGivney Catholic with a time of 20:44.13, Addison Durbin was the leader for Lebanon at 20:47.12, Olivia Wiley led Civic Memorial with a time of 21:36.13, Charline Vianin led Alton with a time of 21:31.99, Ryelan Judiscak led Collinsville at 21:40.49, Tilly Segraves was the top runner for Belleville West at 21:40.81, Ashlyn Tebbe led Breese Central with a time of 21:49.56, Daniya Hill was the top runner for East St. Louis at 22:18.22, Leah Mantani was the leader for Maryville Christian at 22:50.09, Carly Kolesar was the top runner for Staunton at 23:32.13, Elizabeth Genis led the host Warriors with a time of 23:42.88; Ruby Leemon was the top runner for Marissa-Coulterville at 24:36.60; and MuCullough Miller was the leader for Dupo at 25:45.71.Dan Brannan also contributed to this story.
