EDWARDSVILLE - Gabby Cook will continue her basketball career at Aurora University this school year on a basketball scholarship.

Cook, a graduating senior at Edwardsville, was a steady contributor to the Edwardsville High School girls basketball program. She averaged 8.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game as a senior and finished her career with more than 300 points and 300 rebounds.

Edwardsville athletic director Amy Boscolo said Cook’s effort and team-first mentality were central to her success.

“Gabby Cook has been a consistent and dependable presence for our basketball program,” Boscolo said. “Gabby’s effort and team-first mentality have been a key to her success. We look forward to watching her continue her career at Aurora University.”

Cook said she was grateful for the opportunity at Aurora University.

“I felt extremely blessed to announce my commitment to Aurora University,” Cook said. “Big thanks to my family, coaches, teammates and friends who supported me throughout my journey. I am so excited for the opportunity to compete, grow and represent the Spartans.”
