The Tigers shot 291 to claim the sectional championship ahead of Dunlap, which finished second at 303, and Naperville North, which placed third at 307. All three teams advanced to the state tournament Oct. 9-10 at The Den at Fox Creek Golf Course in Bloomington. Alton senior Landon Mayer also qualified for state as an individual with a 76. Alton sophomore Hudson Dorris shot 78, and junior Carter Hanebutt finished at 87.

Junior Henry Willenborg led Edwardsville with a 71, finishing one stroke behind medalist Isaac Rumler, a Moline senior who shot 70.
Sophomore Luke Maxim followed with a 72 for the Tigers. Juniors Brian Cooper and Michael Shaw each shot 74, junior Bennett Briggs finished at 75 and sophomore Drew Capron recorded an 81.

O’Fallon tied Aurora Waubonsie Valley for sixth place at 316. Senior Tyler Murray led the Panthers with a 75 and advanced to state as an individual.
O’Fallon’s other scores came from seniors Max Bortz, who shot 78; Lincoln Weaving, 81; Brett Hattan, 82; Will Peterson, 83; and Colten Weaving, 84.
Belleville East junior Hudson Moskop shot 76, while seniors Mason Schrader and Samuel Hein recorded scores of 83 and 84, respectively. Belleville West senior Alec Jobe finished at 82.
Collinsville seniors Hayden Spudich and Casen Compton each shot 84. Granite City senior Ethan Shaw recorded a 103.
Lockport finished fourth in the team standings at 308, followed by Chatham Glenwood at 310. Moline placed eighth at 317, Plainfield East was ninth at 323, Champaign Central and Oswego East tied for 10th at 326, and Minooka finished 12th at 330.
Edwardsville’s girls golf team also earned a state berth with a third-place finish.
