GRANITE CITY — Edwardsville senior striker Brandon Morris scored an impressive hat trick Sept. 17, 2026, in a 4-0 win over Granite City at Gene Baker Field, contributing to a team he hopes can advance far in the state playoffs this season.
Morris has emerged as a key player and one of the leading goal scorers for the Tigers.

“It was obviously good to get a win there, and to get the hat trick," Morris said.
Morris is an Edison's Entertainment Complex Male Athlete Of The Month for Edwardsville.
Morris credited the team’s play for helping create his scoring opportunities. His three goals came on a first-time shot, a through ball and an individual move past a defender.
“The first one I scored,” Morris said, “I got a cutback, and I just hit it first time on my left foot, and it went into the bottom corner. And then, the second goal, I got a through ball, and I just hit it in the corner past the keeper. My third goal, I took the defender on, I cut inside, and I scored at the near post.”
The milestone added to a season in which Morris is pursuing both individual recognition and postseason success for Edwardsville.
“I'd obviously like to make all-state,” Morris said, “and I'd also like to go to state and compete there.”
With the remainder of the regular season ahead, Morris said he is eager to see what the Tigers can accomplish.
“I'm really excited to see what this team can do,” Morris said. “I'm excited that this team can show everybody what we can do.”
He hopes Edwardsville can build on its results so far.
“Of course, we want to keep that going,” Morris said. “I feel like we're on a roll right now, and everything's just going to keep coming for us.”
