ALTON - Three Alton High School FCCLA members were recognized during the Alton School District Board of Education’s August meeting for earning Silver Medals at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference.

Carter Stahl, Lilly Burns and Trenton Wilson were invited to attend the meeting, where the board recognized their accomplishments at the national level in their competitive events. Stahl, Burns and Wilson are definite Difference Makers in their community.

Stahl earned a Silver Medal in the Chapter in Review Display event. Burns earned a Silver Medal in Professional Presentation, and Wilson earned a Silver Medal in the Sustainability Challenge.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a national student-led organization that helps young people develop leadership skills, explore careers, strengthen families and make a positive impact in their schools and communities. Through competitive events, service projects, leadership opportunities and other activities, FCCLA allows students to put their skills into action.

Competing at FCCLA Nationals is a significant accomplishment, with students from across the country gathering to showcase their knowledge, skills, creativity and dedication. Stahl, Burns and Wilson represented Alton High School and the AHS FCCLA chapter with distinction.

The AHS FCCLA chapter expressed appreciation to the Alton School District Board of Education for inviting the students to the August meeting and recognizing their accomplishments. The chapter also thanked Superintendent Elaine Kane, Alton High School Principal Stacie Franke, FCCLA adviser Kelsie Davison, teachers, families and the Alton community for their continued encouragement and support.

The recognition highlights the dedication of Alton High School students and the opportunities FCCLA provides for students to develop leadership skills, serve their community and represent their school at the state and national levels. AHS FCCLA said it is proud to celebrate Stahl, Burns and Wilson and looks forward to another year of leadership, service and achievement.
