WOOD RIVER — Kacey Hill, a 911 telecommunicator with the Wood River Police Department for 7 1/2 years, is being recognized as a Difference Maker in the region for helping get emergency resources to people during some of their worst moments.

Hill is often the calm voice on the other end of the phone or radio in the department’s dispatch center.

“I take pride in being the person who helps get the right resources where they need to be,” she said. “While I am not the one out in the field, I know that every call I answer and every decision I make can have a direct impact on someone’s safety.”

Hill said her work is rooted in service to the community.

“I serve because I care about my community, I believe in helping others, and I am proud to play an important role in keeping people safe,” she said.

She has been with the Wood River Police Department for 7 1/2 years and is highly valued within the department and the region for her efforts.
