Trice, who was appointed to lead the consolidated police department in May 2025, said Janiya joins the department with “an impressive educational background,” including a bachelor’s degree in digital media technology, and that she is “currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Technology.”

Trice, speaking for the fire department, as it “continues to grow, evolve, and build for the future,” is committed to “keeping our community informed and involved every step of the way.”

Residents will have “an inside look at the progress being made, the dedication of our members, and the vision that is helping shape the future of fire and emergency services in Cahokia Heights,” Trice said.
