EDWARDSVILLE - Sammy Huber was one of Metro East Lutheran’s key performers during the Knights’ 2026 baseball season, batting over .500 with 38 hits and 26 RBIs while finishing his career with a batting average over .400.
Game after game, Huber produced at the plate for Metro East Lutheran, prompting head coach Reed Harmon to describe his performance in simple terms during the season.

Huber is a BJ's Printables Male Athlete Of The Month for the Knights.
“He has been hitting lights out,” Harmon said during the season.
That description held up through the remainder of the 2026 campaign as Huber continued to be a consistent offensive force for the Knights.
“Sam was our second senior this past season,” Harmon said. “He played in the outfield last year when we had a player go down, and he did a phenomenal job in the infield this season. He almost tore the cover off the ball at the plate.”
Huber’s role changed from the outfield last season due to another player's injury to the infield in 2026. His production at the plate and defensive versatility made him a significant contributor for Metro East Lutheran during the 2026 season.
