ALTON - Marquette Catholic's varsity volleyball team defeated Metro East Lutheran 25-17, 25-19 on Thursday night at Marquette, Sept. 24, 2026, with senior Reese Bechtold recording seven kills and senior Alex Stephan adding 11 digs.

Senior Brooke Keller and junior Remmi Copeland each had eight assists for the Explorers, who are 12-9 overall.

Marquette also won the freshman match in three sets. Metro East Lutheran won the JV match in three sets.

The Explorers play at Carlinville on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, before traveling to Maryville Christian on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Metro East Lutheran, 7-10 overall, plays at Greenville on Sept. 28, at Father McGivney on Sept. 29, and at East Alton-Wood River on Sept. 30.
