EDWARDSVILLE - Edwardsville linebacker Ava Sauerwein had a spectacular game on Thursday night, Sept. 17, 2026, against Belleville West, running two interceptions back for scores in the Tigers' 33-0 thrashing of the Maroons at EHS.
Jahzara Zakkour was again another leader on defense with two sacks. Jessica Sever also scored two times.

Quarterback Ella Wallace again directed the Edwardsville offense to success.
The Tigers scoring was as follows:
Sauerwin, had a 36-yard interception return for a touchdown and a 14-yard interception return for a score.
Jessica Sever had a 17-yard reception for a touchdown and the extra point was good by Serena Shapiro.
Stella Worman had an 18-yard touchdown and Sever scored from three yards for the point after.
Hunter Gibbs had a one-yard touchdown reception, and the extra point failed.
Shapiro had a 4-yard touchdown and Sever had a 6-yard touchdown. Jada Donaldson scored from 3 yards on an extra point after the Donaldson score.
Edwardsville returns to action at Belleville West on Sept. 23 and home on Sept. 24 with a contest against Belleville East.
