Absent from the Oct. 13, 2026 Committee of the Whole meeting were Chairman John Meehan, Alderman Chris Bohn and Alderwomen Stephanie Elliott and Martha Pfister. Present were Alderwomen Rosie Brown and Patricia Ford, as well as Alderman Michael Velloff.
With the majority of members absent, the committee meeting adjourned after just over a minute with no action taken on any resolutions. Brown previously said Meehan, who typically chairs Committee of the Whole meetings, asked Brown to chair the Oct. 13 meeting.
At the City Council meeting on Oct. 14, 2026, Meehan said that due to a lack of quorum at the previous committee meeting, no resolutions on the agenda would be discussed or voted on. This includes a resolution authorizing the city to make payment on invoices normally approved by the committee, in this case ranging from Sept. 23 to Oct. 14, 2026.
City Clerk Lauren Wilson said the bill listing and all resolutions will be discussed and voted on at the next Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, Oct. 26, 2026.
