

GRANITE CITY - Edwardsville's Brian Cooper won the individual title by shooting a four-under-par 68 to win the IHSA Class 3A boys golf Collinsville regional, while the Tigers took home the team title Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 30, 2026, at Arlington Greens Golf Course in Granite City.

The Tigers won the regional with a team score of 284, eight shots better than runner-up O'Fallon, who had a 292, while Chatham Glenwood was the third team to advance, firing a 311. Belleville East finished fourth at 314, Alton came in fifth with a 316, the host Kahoks were sixth at 318, Quincy finished seventh with a 320, Belleville West finished eighth with a 332, Granite City came in ninth place at 336, and Springfield Southeast placed 10th at 342.
In addition, the Redbirds advanced three golfers to the O'Fallon sectional Monday at Stonewolf Golf Club in Fairview Heights. Landon Mayer advanced with a 77, Carter Hanebutt went through with a 78, and Hudson Dorris was the last individual to qualify with a 78. Ethan Shaw fired a 78 to become Granite City's only qualifier and both Caden Compton and Hayden Spudich advanced for the Kahoks, with Compton shooting a 74, and Spudich came up with a 76 to advance.
Other Individuals who advanced to Monday's sectional were Alex Jobe of Belleville West, who had a 76, and three from Belleville East: Sam Hein, who also shot a 76, Mason Schrader, who came up with a 77, and Hudson Moskop, who had a 78.
In addition to Cooper's winning score, the Tigers saw Bennett Briggs coming up with a 71, Michael Shaw had a 72, Henry Willenborg fired a 73, and both Drew Capron and Luke Maxim each had a 74. The Panthers were led by both Tyler Murray and Max Bortz, who each fired a 71, followed by 75s from both Will Peterson and Lincoln Weaving, Colton Weaving shot an 82, and Jake Taddei had an 83.
To go along with both Compton and Spudich's qualifying scores, Collinsville saw Oliver Stirnaman fire an 83, Taten Snider shoot an 85, Noah Lee came up with an 88, and Kannon Krausz had a 96. Outside of Shaw, the Warriors had Kymani Makasini shoot an 81, Landon Hopper come up with an 85, Connor Schafer had a 92, Mason Uhercik came up with a 93, and Lawdin Warren fired a 94.
