U.S. Rep. Mike BostWASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Mike Bost (IL-12) today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration has awarded grants totaling over $2.3 million to enhance safety and infrastructure improvements at Veterans Airport in Marion and MidAmerica Airport in Mascoutah.

“Southern Illinois is emerging as a transportation hub for our region, and Veterans Airport and MidAmerica Airport are critical transportation assets,” said Bost. “These investments will help ensure both airports have safe and reliable infrastructure they need to continue protecting travelers and creating economic opportunities for the region.”

Veterans Airport will receive $1,176,548 to purchase a new aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicle, along with protective equipment and medical kits to enhance safety. MidAmerica Airport will receive $1,149,763 to bring the surrounding landscape into conformity with current FAA standards.
