Laird Conditioning and Heating Gets Back to Work in Jerseyville

Laird Conditioning and Heating offers residential and commercial HVAC services. The family-owned business was established in Jerseyville, but had to take a hiatus after owner Drew Laird suffered a stroke last November. Now that Laird is healthy again, he is eager to give back to the community and provide top-notch service.
“We’re trying to let the community here in Jerseyville know that we’re back in business and ready to service the local community,” Laird said. “The community, Jerseyville, really stepped up and really helped us out a lot. Any chance that we have to return that favor, we’re going to take full advantage of that.”
Laird Conditioning and Heating is helmed by Laird and his wife, who handles the administrative side of the business while Laird oversees the installations and maintenance. The company services all residential and commercial HVAC equipment as well as commercial refrigeration and restaurant equipment.
It was important to Laird to serve his “small town” of Jerseyville, where he was “born and raised.” The business works with community members across the Riverbend and Metro East regions, but Laird has a soft spot for the Jerseyville community, especially after his recent health scare.
He explained that the company had recently purchased a building for the business when he suffered a stroke. Though the experience was “very scary,” it was less overwhelming because Laird knew his community had his back.
“To be in a position to purchase a building for the business is something that we never dreamed possible, especially in such a short period of time,” he remembered. “Having the stroke right after the purchase of the building was really demoralizing, I guess. Coming out of that and now seeing that light at the end of the tunnel makes everything that much more exciting to know that the business survived, that I survived, that we’re moving forward and that there is a future. It’s a very exciting time.”
As Laird Conditioning and Heating returns to business as usual, Laird is reenergized and can’t wait to engage with customers. His passion for the job guides him through every day, and he looks forward to giving back to the community that never turned away from him even in his hardest times.
“That’s why we love Jerseyville,” he said. “The support that we got, it’s very humbling to know there are so many people out there who really do care. So for my family, we’d really like to take the opportunity to say thank you very, very much.”
