EAST ST. LOUIS - Residents of East St. Louis are invited to a free National Night Out event from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, at 8206 State St., where the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois, law enforcement agencies and community partners plan activities aimed at strengthening relationships between residents and police.

Organizers said the event will include school supply giveaways for students, food for families and activities for all ages, including games, police demonstrations, a helicopter landing and a live DJ. Free school physicals also will be available.

Participating agencies include Ameren Illinois, ATF, Catholic Urban Programs, the City of East St. Louis, Community Development Sustainable Solutions, Community Life Line, DEA, the East St. Louis Police Department, the FBI Springfield Field Office, Illinois State Police, IRS Criminal Investigation, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes community partnerships with police and neighborhood camaraderie.
