Brannon, a multi-sport athlete who also has played volleyball and girls basketball for Roxana, hit .489 as a sophomore and finished with 44 hits, 33 RBIs, nine doubles and eight triples.
Josie is a Midwest Members Credit Union Female Athlete Of The Month.
Coach Pat Brannon said Josie Brannon’s versatility has been a key asset for the Shells.
“She plays wherever we ask,” he said. “She can hit for power.”
He said her development at shortstop stood out from last season to this year.
“She has grown into shortstop,” Pat Brannon said. “Last year she struggled at times; this year (2026) she looks like a shortstop and has come into that position.”
He also said she ranked among the team’s best offensive players.
“She was one of our top 5 hitters in 2026,” he said. “I would put all of them up against any teams in the area; they all had strong batting averages.”
