EDWARDSVILLE — Katie Albrecht and Emma Gusewelle have concluded their senior years at Metro East Lutheran High School after standout bowling careers that included all-conference recognition and postseason competition.
The two girls are BJ's Printables Female Athletes of the Month for MELHS.

Metro East Lutheran’s girls bowling team turned in a strong performance at the Gateway Metro Conference Bowling Tournament, where Gusewelle and Kacy Gearns earned honorable mention all-conference honors, while Albrecht and Dani Spann were named first-team all-conference.
Spann posted the highest girls' score of the day, and both she and Charlotte Smith set career-best match marks with their scores.
In postseason play, Gusewelle placed 34th at the regional with a score of 816, while Albrecht was 39th with a 779.
Metro East Lutheran finished ninth in the sectional team standings, capping what was described as a strong season.
