Monday starts wet, with rain and a few thunderstorms moving through the area early in the morning. Some of the rain could be heavy at times, which may slow the commute and cause ponding in low spots. Temperatures begin in the low 60s, with light east-northeast winds around 5 to 10 mph and gusts near 13 mph. It will feel a little warmer than the thermometer reads, closer to the upper 60s.
By afternoon, the steadiest rain moves out and skies stay mostly cloudy for a while as the day turns humid. A stray shower may linger, but most of the heavier activity should be done by then. The temperature climbs to around 80 for the day’s high, and it may feel closer to 84 during the warmest part of the afternoon.
