SATURDAY'S RESULTS
FATHER MCGIVNEY CATHOLIC 12, BREESE MATER DEI CATHOLIC 5: McGivney bounced back nicely from a loss to Belleville West the day before, scoring two runs in the first and sixth, five runs in the second, and three in the fourth to take the win at Mater Dei at Griffins Field.
Ty Etcheson led the way for the Griffins with three hits and an RBI, while both Aiden Willis and Brendan Kayser struck out two each on the mound.
McGivney is now 19-7, while the Knights fall to 12-15.
GRANITE CITY 2, CARBONDALE 1: Granite City scored single runs in the third and fourth, making the second run stand up in their win over Carbondale at Babe Champion Field.
Ayden Cooper had two hits for the Warriors, while Michael Terry went all the way on the mound, fanning 10.
Granite is now 13-10, while the Terriers go to 11-13.
TRIAD 3, O'FALLON 1: The two teams traded runs in the second, but Triad came up with two runs in the top of the sixth to take the win over O'Fallon at Blazier Field.
Nolan Keller had two hits and two RBIs for the Knights, while Pearce Goodfield struck out four while on the mound.
Triad improves to 22-5, while the Panthers go to 17-10.
JACKSONVILLE 10, CIVIC MEMORIAL 0: Jacksonville scored six runs in the first, then added two more in both the second and fifth to win over visiting CM.
Brock Rust had the only hit for the Eagles, while Brayden Cox fanned two while on the mound.
The Crimsons are now 19-6, while CM goes to 15-12.
PITTSFIELD 7-7, CALHOUN 6-16: In the first game of a doubleheader, Pittsfield held a 6-1 lead after six innings, but Calhoun rallied with five runs in the seventh to tie the game, The Saukees scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to take the opener, but the Warriors scored three in the first inning of the nightcap, then scored twice in the second, five in the third, four runs in the fifth, and single runs in the sixth and seventh to split the twinbill.
In the first game, Jack Zipprich led Calhoun with three hits and two RBIs, also striking out three on the mound. In the second game, both Easton Wallendorf and Earl Elmore had three hits and two RBIs each for the Warriors, while Abner Hillen fanned two on the mound.
Calhoun is now 16-9, while Pittsfield goes to 16-12.
PAWNEE 4, CARROLLTON 2: Pawnee broke a 2-2 tie with two runs in the seventh to pull out the win at Carrollton.
Both Landon Grafford and Reed Schnettgoeke had a hit and RBIs each for the Hawks, while Charlie Stumpf struck out five while on the mound.
The Indians are now 16-6, while Carrollton slides to 11=9.
In the rest of the Saturday schedule, Edwardsville won over Highland 7-1, but lost to Chatham Glenwood 5-2, while the Bulldogs won over Teutopolis 6-3, Trenton Wesclin won over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 8-7, and Waterloo outlasted Carterville 8-6.

BELLEVILLE WEST 6, FATHER MCGIVNEY CATHOLIC 4: West scored single runs in the first and sixth, along with four runs in the third, to help hold off McGivney at home.
Ty Etcheson had two hits for the Griffins, while Issac Wendler hit a sixth-inning grand slam homer to account for his only hit and four RBIs on the day. Tyler Jacobs had the only strikeout on the mound.
The Maroons are now 16-8-1, while the Griffins slip to 18-7.
BREESE CENTRAL 10, EAST ALTON-WOOD RIVER 0: Central scored three runs in the first and sixth innings, two in the second, and single runs in the fourth and fifth en route to a home win over EAWR.
Austin Woods, Cannon Cook, Jerald Downs, and Keaton Magurany had the hits for the Oilers, while Kamern Johnson struck out three on the mound.
The Cougars are now 21-7, while EAWR goes to 1-18.
CARLINVILLE 14, HILLSBORO 2: Carlinville put up seven runs in the first, five more in the second, and two more in the fifth to take the South Central Conference win at Hillsboro.
Blake Killam had three hits and two RBIs for the Cavaliers, while Drew Quarton had a hit and four RBIs. Quarton also struck out eight while on the mound.
Carlinville is now 5-13, while the Hilltoppers fall to 3-18.
CALHOUN 16, WHITE HALL NORTH GREENE 0: Calhoun scored four times in the first, and added six runs in both the second and fourth to defeat North Greene on the road.
Earl Elmore led the Warriors with two hits and five RBIs, while Jordan Hillen went all the way on the mound, fanning two.
Calhoun is now 14-9, while the Spartans go to 0-14.
GREENVILLE 5, SOUTHWESTERN 4: Greenville scored twice in the second, and once in the third and fourth, but Southwestern scored three times in the third, and tied the game with a run in the sixth. The Comets scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to defeat the Piasa Birds at home.
Gage Campbell had two hits and an RBI for Southwestern, also striking out three while on the mound.
Greenville is now 17-7, while the Birds go to 5-22.
CIVIC MEMORIAL 5, FREEBURG 2: CM scored twice in the third and the seventh, and once in the fifth to take the win at Freeburg's park.
Dane Godar had two hits for the Eagles, while Brock Rust struck out seven on the mound.
CM is now 15-11, while the Midgets go to 20-7.
In other games played on Friday, Edwardsville defeated Teutopolis 8-3, Chatham Glenwood shut out Highland 4-0, Waterloo won over Breese Mater Dei Catholic 7-3, Camp Point Central defeated Greenfield Northwestern 8-3, it was Nashville slipping past Belleville Althoff Catholic 2-1, Columbia won over Salem 15-1, Marion got past Mascoutah 3-2, and Trenton Wesclin defeated Carlyle 20-0.

In the only match played over the weekend involving an area team, Alton swept St. Louis Collegiate Medical and Bioscience, a city magnet school, in a best-of-five set Missouri match, 3-0.
