Sykes will be recognized at Busch Stadium on May 5 as part of the 60th Annual St. Louis Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete Team.
Megan is also once again a Stillwater Senior Living Female Athlete Of The Month for the Warriors for her academic and athletic achievements over the school year as a four-sport athlete. She is concluding her Granite City career on the soccer field.
“I am very proud of myself for balancing school and sports over the past four years so well. I would not have been able to be the athlete and student I am today without the support of my parents," Sykes said.
A four-sport standout in volleyball, basketball, swimming, and soccer, Sykes will be attending St. Charles Community College in the fall of 2026 to further her soccer career at the collegiate level. The daughter of Craig and Ann Sykes, she plans to major in psychology with an emphasis in sports and performance.
"Megan Sykes defines what being a student athlete is all about. She is able to balance being a four-sport athlete and a top student by being both disciplined and dedicated to everything she is involved in,” said GCHS Athletic Director John Moad. “Megan is a tremendous representative of Granite City High School, and we can't wait to see her future successes.”
