The Alton School Resource Officer Detective Ashley Clare did an impressive presentation at the annual Alton High School Job Fair this past Friday.

ALTON - The Alton Police Department played an active part on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Alton High School, where a school resource officer represented the department at the school’s annual job fair and offered students a hands-on lesson about impairment.

Students had the chance to explore “summer job opportunities,” “internship programs,” and “career paths after high school,” according to information provided about the event.

Clare also brought impairment goggles for students and adults to try.

“Students and adults seemed to enjoy trying them out while learning an important lesson about how impairment can affect coordination and decision-making,” she said.

“We appreciate opportunities like this to connect with students and help them think about their future,” the Alton Police Department said. “Thank you to Alton High School for hosting another great event!”
