EDWARDSVILLE - Jack Beaber delivered a pair of podium finishes Saturday, placing third in both the shot put and discus at the Winston Brown Meet of Champions in Edwardsville.

Competing April 25, 2026, Beaber took third in the shot put with a throw of 15.74 meters (51 feet, 7.75 inches) and was third in the discus at 53.45 meters (175-4). Marquette finished 16th in the team standings with 12 points.

Beaber’s mark in the discus surpassed his best of the season at the Wood River Relays of 174-1. He has a best in the shot put of 53-11.25, also in the Wood River Relays.

Beaber is one of the top shot put and discus throwers in Illinois and is expected to advance to the Illinois High School state track and field meet once again.
