Ronan McGinnis made the ace on March 28, 2026, while playing Cloverleaf Golf Course in Alton for the first time. The shot came as the course hosted the Gators Baseball annual charity scramble, an event that brought many attendees to the course.

McGinnis’ father, Matt, and his brother, Liam, watched the ball drop into the cup.

“A burst of excitement” spread through the Cloverleaf clubhouse as friends congratulated him, a golf course spokesperson said. "The McGinnis family came to play a round of golf and left with 'a smile, and a scorecard to showcase the memory made together.”'
