EAST ST. LOUIS - The Lincoln Middle School Tigers Cheer Squad has won its division for the second consecutive year, taking first place on March 7, 2025, at the MCDA Cheer & Dance Justice League Competition, according to East St. Louis School District 189.

The squad earned first place in the Junior High/Middle School Cheer Division.

The district praised the team’s performance, saying the cheerleaders “demonstrated excellence, discipline, teamwork, and true Tiger pride as they represented Lincoln Middle School with energy and class.”

In a statement celebrating the middle school cheerleaders' win, the district wrote, “Girls just wanna have fun — and win championships!” and described the team as “Back-to-back champions; now that's how you represent East St. Louis!”
