WOOD RIVER - East Alton-Wood River Oilers couldn’t keep pace with a red-hot Greenfield/Northwestern squad, falling 15-0 on Tuesday.

Greenfield/Northwestern wasted no time getting on the board, as Karissa Ruyle delivered an RBI double in the first inning to spark the offense.

The visitors broke the game open in the second, plating five runs on six hits. Lainey Frank, Emma Vetter, and Annabeth Thornton each drove in a run with singles, while Ruyle struck again with a two-run double to extend the lead.

After a quieter stretch, Greenfield/Northwestern put the game out of reach in the fifth inning with another five-run surge. Ruyle added a two-run single, Tinley Albrecht knocked in two more with a double, and Vetter capped the inning with an RBI single.

Albrecht earned the win in dominant fashion, allowing just two hits over five shutout innings while striking out eight and walking one. Ellie Beachum took the loss for the Oilers, pitching 3? innings and allowing eight runs on 12 hits while striking out five.

Beachum and Josslyn Snively accounted for East Alton-Wood River’s only hits in the game.

Greenfield/Northwestern’s offense was relentless, racking up 19 hits. Ruyle led the way with a perfect 4-for-4 performance and four RBIs. Kinze Pitchford, Frank, Khloe Williams, Vetter, and Albrecht all recorded multiple hits.
