JERSEYVILLE - The Dr. Silas Hamilton Chapter NSDAR of Jerseyville recently honored the 2026 DAR Good Citizens winners from participating area schools, recognizing students selected through the chapter’s DAR Good Citizen contest.

Those honored included Madalyn Nolte of Brussels High School, Hannah Klaas of Calhoun High School, Kayleigh Trimm of Bunker Hill High School, Elyse Eldred of Carlinville High School, and Abigail Chin of Jerseyville High School. Ann Badasch, the chapter regent, and Sandra Cornelius, vice regent, were pictured above with the students. Taylor Cairns of Southwestern High School and Emily Bergen of Gillespie High School were not pictured.

The chapter also hosted a 2026 Trivia Night that provides funding for the chapter’s DAR Good Citizen contest, its winners, and the banquet. The winners of the trivia night were a group from the Jerseyville Rotary, pictured below with Badasch and Cornelius.
