On March 10 and 12, 2026, community members could gather for presentations by four architectural firms. FGM Architects, Farnsworth Group, Baysinger Architects, and AAIC Inc. all presented information about their work. Godfrey residents could ask questions and learn more about what the rec center might look like.

“It's exciting to see for the public to be involved,” said Gerard Fischer. “It’s their voice that we want to hear to make this their rec center.”

Fischer, Godfrey trustee and chair of the Rec Center Committee, noted that they are currently in the “concept phase” of the project. He hopes to move to the next step soon so they can get a clearer picture of what the rec center will look like and how it will serve the community.

He added that the committee has narrowed down which firm they would like to work with. They will ask for approval from the Board of Trustees on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, to hire the firm.

Fischer invites the community to attend the Godfrey Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, to voice their opinions and hear more about the proposed center. You can also stream the meeting here on RiverBender.com.
