Joel Woodruff was officially sworn in as a Probationary Police Officer at this week’s Wood River City Council meeting. City Clerk Danielle Sneed administered his Oath of Office.

Mayor Tom Stalcup congratulated Woodruff and said he has full confidence Woodruff will “be a great police officer for us.”

The Wood River Police Department also congratulated Woodruff in a social media announcement the following morning, noting his previous role in the department as a telecommunicator and his upcoming Police Academy training.

“Officer Woodruff will begin training at the Police Academy in the coming weeks and, upon successful completion, will return to the department for field training,” the department announced. “Please join us in wishing Officer Woodruff the very best during his training. Stay safe, and we look forward to seeing you back on patrol serving the citizens of Wood River!”
