CARLINVILLE - Staunton nabbed its 29th overall win of the season on Friday night, Feb. 27, 2026, by winning the Carlinville 2A boys basketball regional over the host Cavaliers 56-37.
Staunton is 29-3 overall on the year, Carlinville closes at 19-13.

Jeremiah Graham had 17 points to pace Staunton, Isiah Laux had 13 points. Lucas Dillon had 12 points, Bryce Coalson had 8 points and Luke Moore had 6 points for Staunton.
Tate Duckels had 13 points to lead Carlinville. Sawyer Smith had 9 points and Tristan Thompson 5 points. Cameron Cooper and Noah Convery had 4 points apiece.
Staunton will now play in the Pleasant Plains Sectional against Rochester at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rochester defeated Williamson 50-41 to move to the Pleasant Plains Sectional.
