ST. LOUIS - Dr. Bruce Vest's group returned to the streets of St. Louis once again during the Mardi Gras Parade, aiming for a third consecutive first-place float prize at the city’s event. This time, the family-backed float effort was dedicated to the memory of his late son-in-law.

Vest has an office at 4441 Alby St. in Alton. Family members traveled from California, Minnesota, and Iowa to participate, Dr. Vest said.

Dr. Vest described the theme as “Dr. Vest’s DragonFest Spooktacular Krewe LOVEFEST.”

“Peace, Love, and Mardi Gras,” the release said, adding that Vest and “family, friends, and his zany eccentric Krewe of fire and smoke-breathing Dragons and festively adorned spooky Skeletons will send the crowds into ‘Cardiogenic Shock’ with a flaming Valentine’s Day-infused LOVEFEST celebration.”

The float was dedicated “to the memory of Dr. Vest’s son-in-law, Dr. Sanjay Patel, who died of lung cancer after a courageous battle.”

“Sanjay was an enthusiastic part of our parade Krewe in the past and had the time of his life,” Dr. Vest said.
