The arena said the East Alton Fire Department was brought in “to ensure we were doing things right.”

“Fast forward, we closed the rink to ensure the safety of anyone until we find the source of why it was raised,” the statement said. “We have an idea, but we will not let anyone in the building until we know it is 100 percent safe.”

The arena said it would provide updates for those with games or practices scheduled Tuesday night.

“Safety of our users is our number one priority,” the statement said.
