WOOD RIVER — The Roxana Shells used a fast start and steady scoring to beat the East Alton-Wood River Oilers 69-30 in a cross-town rivalry game Friday night at East Alton-Wood River.

Roxana took control early behind Cohen Dugan, who scored eight of his 15 points in the first quarter as the Shells jumped out to a 15-3 lead.
The Shells continued to build their advantage in the second quarter, taking a 33-11 lead into halftime.
Roxana widened the margin again in the third quarter, extending the lead to 60-22. Aiden Stemm scored nine points in the period to help Roxana pull away.
In the fourth quarter, Roxana pulled its starters and outscored East Alton-Wood River 9-8 to close out the game.
Roxana had three players score in double figures. Stemm led with 16 points, while Dugan and Sean Maberry each finished with 15.
East Alton-Wood River was led by Jordyn Spiller with eight points and Mikel Stockard with six.
