EDWARDSVILLE - Early voting is underway in Madison County ahead of the March 17, 2026, general primary election, giving voters the option to cast ballots before Election Day at designated sites across the county.

Madison County Clerk Lynda Andreas said early voting is intended to make the process more convenient.

“Early Voting makes voting easier for almost everyone,” Andreas said. “You don’t have to wait in line at the polling place and can vote when it fits your schedule.”

The early voting period continues through the day before Election Day, according to the county’s notice. Early voting is conducted at assigned locations throughout Madison County, and voters may go to any one of the assigned locations. Polling places will only be open for voting on the observed Election Day.

Early voting has already started at the Madison County Administration Building, 157 N. Main St., first floor, Edwardsville. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 5-6, Feb. 9-13, Feb. 17-20 and Feb. 23-27.

Additional early voting locations, dates and hours listed in the county notice include:

— Alton: Scott Bibb Center, 1004 E. 5th St., Alton (March 2-16 schedule listed in the county notice).

— Edwardsville: County Administration Building, 157 N. Main St., first floor, Edwardsville (March 2-16 schedule listed in the county notice).

— Granite City: Township Building, 2060 Delmar Ave., Office B, Granite City. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 2-6; 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 9-13 and March 16; 9 a.m. to noon March 7; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 14; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 8 and March 15.

— Bethalto: Bethalto Senior Citizens Center, 100 E. Central St., Bethalto. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 2-6 and March 9-13. The notice lists this as a new location.

— Collinsville: Collinsville Senior Citizens Building, 420 E. Main St., Collinsville. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. March 2-6 and March 9-13; 9 a.m. to noon March 7; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 14.

— Godfrey: Godfrey Village Hall, 6810 Godfrey Road, Godfrey. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 2-6 and March 9-13.

— Highland: Weinheimer Community Center, 1100 Main St., Highland. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. March 2-6 and March 9-13; 9 a.m. to noon March 7; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 14.

— Madison: Madison Fire Station, 1800 3rd St., Madison. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. March 2-6 and March 9-13; 9 a.m. to noon March 7; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 14.

— Southern Illinois University: Morris University Center, Willow Room, Edwardsville. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 11-13.

— Troy: Troy City Hall, 116 E. Market St., Troy. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 2-6 and March 9-13.

— Wood River: Wood River Township Office, 41 S. 9th St., East Alton. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 2-6 and March 9-13.

The county notice states that all precincts within Madison County will be served at all early voting locations.
