Brittany Rivoire, 36.ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Metropolitan Police continued investigating the fatal shooting of William Palmer after officers found him shot in Downtown St. Louis early Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, and prosecutors charged Brittany Rivoire with first-degree murder and other offenses.

Officers were called to the 300 block of North 9th Street at about 2:30 a.m., according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Police said officers discovered Palmer shot and contacted EMS, but he died at the scene.

Detectives used cameras in the area to locate a suspect, police said.

Rivoire, 36, was charged with one count of first-degree murder, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a weapon, and tampering with a motor vehicle. She is being held without bond.

Charging documents state that Rivoire had been driven around in the man’s truck so she would not be out in the cold. Police said Rivoire was captured on camera shooting the man in the head and driving his truck a few blocks before leaving it.

Police said Rivoire is a convicted felon.
