WOOD RIVER — Roxana spoiled senior night for the East Alton-Wood River Lady Oilers on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, pulling away early for a 56-32 win in a cross-town rivalry game.

Roxana set the tone in the first quarter, jumping to a 16-3 lead. The Lady Shells extended that advantage to 32-14 by halftime.
East Alton-Wood River showed improvement in the third quarter, but Roxana maintained control and carried a 41-24 lead into the final period. Roxana then outscored EAWR 15-8 in the fourth quarter to close out the win.
Despite the loss, it was a milestone night for EAWR senior Kaylynn Buttry, who broke the program’s single-season scoring record with 520 points on the season. Buttry led EAWR with 20 points. Averi Gilliam added five.
Roxana was led by Daisy Daugherty with 16 points and Ava Cherry with 12.
