BETHALTO/WOOD RIVER - Hit-N-Run will bring back its drive-thru service on a limited schedule starting Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, reopening first at its Bethalto location after what owner Dwight Fowler described as "strong customer demand."

The Bethalto Hit-N-Run drive-thru is set to reopen from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at 515 North Bellwood Drive in Bethalto. The Wood River Hit-N-Run is expected to open its drive-thru on Monday, Fowler said.

“A lot of feedback showed people wanted it, and we decided to go ahead and start to open it back up,” Fowler said of the popular drive-thrus.

Fowler said the company is treating the return on Friday and Monday as a “soft opening,” with a gradual rollout.

“We decided to go ahead and open it back up,” he said, adding that the business decided to move ahead now because of the weather breaking a little bit. “Hopefully, it continues to get nicer and we will adjust as the weather gets better and we get more manpower.”

Fowler said the initial restart will focus on Bethalto and Wood River. He said Hit-N-Run’s two locations in Alton, as well as its Granite City and East Alton locations, will eventually have drive-thrus open.

The Granite City location will also likely be one of the first to reopen its drive-thru after the other two in Bethalto and Wood River, Fowler said, although he wasn't sure of exactly when.

“We are starting with Bethalto on Friday and will have further information as it comes,” Fowler said.

Fowler said the announcement about the drive-thru openings came together quickly.

“This was all put together yesterday (Tuesday) to get some started, and somebody leaked it out on social media,” Fowler said.

He said he has already seen a favorable response.

“The positive is coming in already just as it is coming back,” Fowler said. “Everything is coming back positive.”
