ALTON - Officers, dispatchers, citizens and community leaders from across Southern Illinois gathered recently, at The Regency for the 33rd Annual SILEC/SIPCA Awards Banquet, where Alton Police Department Officer Beuttel received a Life Saving Award for actions taken during a July 5, 2025, house fire and Alton Police Chief Jarrett Ford was sworn in as treasurer of the Southern Illinois Police Chief’s Association.

The Alton Police Department said Officer Beuttel was recognized “for his heroic actions on July 5, 2025, when he courageously saved individuals from a house fire.”

The department also said Ford was “officially sworn in as Treasurer of the Southern Illinois Police Chief’s Association (SIPCA).”

According to the Alton Police Department, the banquet brought together “officers, dispatchers, citizens, community leaders, families, and friends” to honor “the dedication, service, and bravery of law enforcement across our region.”
