The Belleville Police said Laminack was in the immediate area, and she arrived within 60 seconds of the 911 call.

"Upon arrival, Sgt. Laminack retrieved her departmental automated external defibrillator (AED) and applied it to the child," Belleville Police Department said. "After administering one shock, she continued cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) alongside the Fire Department.

"Her quick actions resulted in the juvenile beginning to breathe independently. Emergency medical services then transported the child to the hospital by ambulance with a heartbeat."

The Belleville Police Department wholeheartedly commended Sgt. Laminack for her rapid response and life-saving efforts.
