
ST. CHARLES, MO. - Roman Janek secured his 100th career wrestling victory with a quick pin Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, leading Edwardsville to a team championship at the St. Charles West tournament in St. Charles, Missouri.

Janek defeated Asher Bunting of Rockwood Seckman in 30 seconds to claim the 215-pound title.
Janek's win helped the Tigers accumulate 261 points, edging out the host Jaguars, who finished second with 241 points. Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, took third place with 190 points.
Edwardsville crowned four individual champions at the event. Alongside Janek’s 215-pound victory, Hayden Hilmes won the 175-pound division, Simon Schulte took the 190-pound title, and Braylon Hill-Lomax captured the 285-pound championship.
In addition to the four champions, several Tigers earned runner-up and third-place finishes.
Michael McNamara (113 pounds), Bryson Nuttal (126 pounds), and George Ostron (175 pounds) placed second, while Timothy Swaim (120 pounds), Sean Monroe (132 pounds), Ian Trauernecht (144 pounds), and Ryan Richie (150 pounds) finished third for Edwardsville.
