BETHALTO — The Civic Memorial Lady Eagles secured a decisive 60-29 victory over the Mascoutah Lady Indians Friday night at home.

Civic Memorial took an early 14-9 lead after the first quarter. The second quarter saw increased tensions, with Mascoutah receiving multiple technical fouls. One player was assessed a technical foul following a play, and two coaches were also given technicals for arguing calls. These penalties resulted in several free throws for Civic Memorial, who led 31-16 at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Lady Eagles extended their advantage to 57-25. With the game well in hand, a running clock was implemented in the fourth quarter, and Civic Memorial substituted out their starters. Mascoutah managed to outscore Civic Memorial 4-3 in the final period.

Marlee Durbin led Civic Memorial with 26 points, while Belle Edwards added 10. Harper Whitworth scored 16 points to lead Mascoutah.
