ST. LOUIS - Following a missed December 2025 payment from Main Street Sports Group (operator of FanDuel Sports Network), the St. Louis Cardinals released a statement on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, confirming that they are working with Major League Baseball and the network on local broadcast alternatives for the 2026 season.

The St. Louis Cardinals assured fans that games will still air in 2026 via cable and direct-to-consumer streaming, as the team explores options after its TV partner's financial issues.

The team stated they are in discussions with FanDuel Sports Network (FSN), Major League Baseball, and other parties to find new distribution methods for Cardinals games.

The St. Louis Cardinals' moves occur after financial troubles for Diamond Sports Group (Bally Sports), the previous rights holder, and indicate a broader shift in regional sports broadcasting.

Major League Baseball has stated that it is prepared to step in with a direct-to-consumer platform, similar to what the league has done for other teams exiting their RSN deals.

The Cardinals are evaluating options, including potentially leaving the current deal for an MLB-controlled streaming service if the situation with Main Street Sports Group deteriorates, with a decision expected soon.
