EDWARDSVILLE – Madison County Clerk & Recorder, Linda Andreas, announced today that they will begin implementing a notary fraud alert program in the Recorder’s office in the new year. The program, developed by Fidlar Technologies, is a powerful new tool designed to protect the notary community from fraud.
This service allows notaries to sign up for free and receive daily, weekly, or monthly reports summarizing recorded documents bearing their name through our land records office.

With mortgage and document fraud involving forged or stolen notary credentials on the rise, many notaries remain unaware that their information has been compromised until after filings occur. While Notary Fraud Alert does not prevent fraud, it provides an early warning system so notaries can take swift and appropriate action if suspicious activity is detected. Notaries will be able to sign up by providing their full name as it appears on their commission and their commission number.
