GODFREY - DK Dance Productions will host their annual Holiday Show this weekend.
On Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, dancers will perform at Hatheway Hall at Lewis and Clark Community College. Dancers from the DK Dance Productions Alton location will perform at 11 a.m., followed by a 1 p.m. performance by the Florissant dancers and a 3 p.m. performance by the Jerseyville dancers. The show’s “Cozy Christmas” theme promises a fun holiday vibe.
“We are super excited to see everyone and share this Cozy Christmas with all of our communities,” said DK Dance owner Darci Ward. “It’s really one of my favorite events that we do every year, just because it’s so laidback. The kiddos are in their holiday pajamas. It’s not like the glitz and glamor that we do for our end-of-year show. It’s more casual and we just have fun.”
Tickets to the Holiday Show cost $10 and can be purchased at any DK Dance location this week or at the door on Dec. 13. Dancers of all ages will showcase a variety of dance styles. As the recitals conclude, Santa Claus, Buddy the Elf, and DK Dance mascot Demi Bear will take the stage to wish everyone a happy holiday season.
The company also recently opened an All-Star Cheer facility in Cottage Hills, with plans for a cheer performance on Sunday, Dec. 14, at Marquette Catholic High School. Tickets to the cheer show cost $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
Ward noted that this is DK Dance Productions' 20th season. She is proud of the work that she, her teachers, and her dancers have put in over the past two decades to make DK Dance into the powerhouse it is. They are “very strong and very excited” as they enter their 20th year.
“I had no idea the amount of people that I would meet and the kids that I would teach and the goals that we would achieve. When you look at it that way, it’s like, wow, this has been a really awesome ride,” Ward said. “I really love it. Twenty years is pretty awesome.”
In addition to their regular dance classes, DK Dance Productions offers a senior tap class for older adults and a “Groove and Grow” program for toddlers to “get their wiggles out.” Ward believes both programs are “hidden gems” that build community and allow people to connect.
They also regularly host open gyms and other opportunities for dancers and tumblers to expand their skills. Ward is especially excited about the “Give the Gift of Dance” initiative, which she believes is the perfect present for the holiday season to get your little one enrolled in dance classes.

“It has definitely been a labor of love,” Ward added. “We’d love to have the community come out and see our kiddos and cheer them on.”
