
BRIGHTON — A Jerseyville man with a lengthy criminal record faces multiple new charges following an incident involving a Brighton Police officer on Nov. 11, 2025.

Michael A. Malloy, 45, was charged Nov. 12, 2025, with one count of aggravated battery to a peace officer, a Class 2 felony. The charge stems from allegations that Malloy pushed and struggled with the officer during the encounter.
The following day, Nov. 13, Malloy was charged in Jersey County with aggravated stalking, a Class 3 felony, as well as violation of an order of protection and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer, both Class 4 felonies.
Malloy’s criminal history dates back to at least 1998 and includes convictions for violent crimes such as stalking, violating an order of protection, and kidnapping. He has served multiple sentences in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
