PEORIA - Cooper Wittek was the leading runner for Edwardsville, while the lone representative from O'Fallon, Brayden Kloeppel, finished 34th as the Tigers placed 23rd in the IHSA Class 3A boys state cross country meet, held Saturday afternoon, Nov. 8, 2025, at Detweiler Park in Peoria.

Plainfield North won the state team championship with 149 points, while Downers Grove North was second with 169 points, Arlington Heights John Hersey was third with 198 points, Lake Zurich finished fourth with 211 points, and rounding out the top five was Elmhurst York with 226 points. The Tigers finished in 23rd as a team with 502 points as the only team from southern Illinois to compete in the meet.

Philip Cupial of Downers Grove North was the individual champions, finishing the three-mile course at 14:03.2, while Cameron Libby of Lake Zurich was second at 14:07.5, in third place was Owen Horeni of Yorkville, who also had a time of 14:07.5, Thomas Czerwinski of Plainfield North was fourth at 14:11.8, and rounding out the top five was Conrad Saner of Downers Grove South, who was in at 14:17,5.

Wittek led the Tigers with a time of 15:07.2, while Taylor Davis came in at 15:11.3, Will McGinness had a time of 15:23.2, Max Horton was in at 15:34.3, and Jackson Elliott had a time of 15:40.2. Kloeppel finished 34th in the race with a time of 14:42.7.
