
CARROLLTON — Carrollton’s balanced passing attack propelled the Hawks to a 34-19 victory over Dupo in a second-round IHSA Class 1A football playoff game Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at Carrollton.
Quarterback Carson Flowers led the way, completing 24 of 37 passes for 349 yards and four touchdowns while rushing 11 times for 64 yards. Flowers also made significant contributions on defense with seven solo tackles and two assisted tackles.

The Hawks’ receiving corps featured standout performances from Brady Clendenen, who caught seven passes for 143 yards and a touchdown, and Reed Schnettgoecke, who had five receptions for 94 yards and a score. Charlie Stumpf added seven catches for 49 yards and a touchdown, while Eli Rhoades had four receptions for 48 yards. Buddy Holmes contributed three catches for 31 yards and a touchdown. Stumpf also carried the ball nine times for 23 yards and a touchdown, and Clendenen rushed four times for 16 yards.
Dupo opened the scoring with a 52-yard touchdown catch by Brayden Esterlein at 11:16 in the second quarter, followed by a 34-yard touchdown reception by Tninh Staggs at 9:11. Carrollton responded before halftime with a 44-yard touchdown catch by Schnettgoecke and a two-yard touchdown reception by Holmes to tie the game 13-13 at the halftime break.

In the second half, Carrollton took control. Stumpf caught a nine-yard touchdown pass and the Hawks converted a two-point attempt to lead 21-13. Dupo’s Staggs scored again on a 13-yard reception, but the missed extra point left the score at 21-19. Clendenen’s interception late in the third quarter set up a successful field goal, extending Carrollton’s lead to 28-19.
Flowers sealed the win with an eight-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Hawks’ final margin was 34-19 after a failed two-point conversion attempt.
Dupo’s quarterback Deegan Prater completed 17 of 36 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns and rushed 12 times for 35 yards. Esterlein caught five passes for 101 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Schnettgoecke recorded six tackles and an assist for the Hawks, while Rhoades contributed four tackles and two assists.
Carrollton will face Mt. Sterling (Brown County) in the next round after the Brown County team defeated Camp Point 16-8 Saturday. The playoff game is scheduled for next weekend at Mt. Sterling.
