It's America's favorite walking event! When you walk, you give hope to babies born too soon or sick. The money you raise supports programs in the Metro East community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies and it funds research to find answers to the serious problems that threaten our babies.
In 1970, March of Dimes began March for Babies to help raise funds for research to prevent premature births, birth defects, and infant mortality. The walk has come a long way since then and now has the support of over 20,000 companies, family teams, and national sponsors. Over the years, March for Babies has raised more than 1.7 billion dollars through private donations and sponsorships. Two March for Babies walks are scheduled in the metro east. The first will be held at Lincoln Middle School in Edwardsville on April 20 and the second is set for May 11 in Sauget.
